PROMONTORY WINS A GOLD IN THE NATIONALS 2008

Prestigious Interior Design Award Given to Luxury Second-Home Community

PARK CITY, UTAH, Feb. 29, 2008 – Promontory, Utah’s family-friendly, luxury second-home community overlooking historic Park City, was awarded a Gold in The Nationals, the nation’s largest and most prestigious competition for new-home sales and marketing professionals and communities. Promontory’s Trapper’s Cabin, Colter Model, won in the category for Best Interior Merchandising of a Model Priced $1 Million to $2 Million.

Presented by the National Sales and Marketing Council (NSMC), a council of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), at the International Builders’ Show in Orlando, Fla., the awards received more than 1,400 entries and the esteemed panel of judges, who represented a wide range of disciplines and a geographic cross-section, convened for three days to select the winners. More than 1,000 people attended the awards gala on February 13.

“We’re very grateful for this national recognition,” said Francis Najafi, CEO of Pivotal Group, based in Phoenix, Ariz. and developer of Promontory. “It affirms that we offer the best in the world of interior design and architecture as well as multi-generational amenities such as award-winning championship golf courses designed by Pete Dye and Jack Nicklaus, an Equestrian Center, a Kids Cabin and a private lodge on Upper Deer Valley ski resort.”

“To win a Gold in The Nationals is a real testament to the talent and dedication of our design team at Promontory, they deserve our hearty congratulations” said Promontory Managing Director Rich Sonntag.

The interior design of the Trapper’s Cabin, Colter Model, was collaboration between interior designer Sandy Baggett of CSE at Promontory, the in-house developer/builder for the community, and HRI Design of Littleton, Colo. and evokes a mountain home style with contemporary furnishings and fabrics. “We call the style ‘Mountain Edge,’ mountain with an edge,” says Baggett.

The 2,400-square-foot home contrasts reclaimed oak floors, distressed beams and natural stone accents with sleek lighting, furniture and fixtures. The color scheme is also counter-intuitive. Instead of a standard brown and beige palette, the design includes antique gray beams and travertine in subtle Jura beige with fossils, juxtaposed with the waxed natural wood floors and warm-toned furnishings.
